I have a morning routine that involves, among other things, writing at least 750 words of “stream-of-consciousness” content. I’ve been doing this for about five years with very few misses, so that’s a lot of words.
Now I'm glad I hadn't seen this movie yet, especially after reading Samantha Youssef's critique. Knowing you as incompletely as I do, the last trait I would ever associate with you is saviorism. If anything, and the thing I think is most important to know about you, is that you are a man following his conscience with sincere curiosity and scholarship, and with dedication and persistence. Hopefully your critic(s) take the time to get to know you better. My bet is they will see these and similar traits for themselves.

As a Palestinian, and as a human, I thank you very much Tom for all of your advocacy. As the Israeli genocide of the indigenous Palestinian people continues, as its supporters trip over themselves with bold-faced lies that would be comical if they weren't enabling the collapse of our constitutional and international legal systems on top of everything else, we should ALL be doing whatever we can to end this nightmare, just as you are. Thank you.

There will always be haters. I have to speak up for the downtrodden. My conscience won’t allow me to do otherwise. Have been doing it since school days when I stood up for the bullied there.
Fully agree but I don’t think that’s what happened here. On the contrary I’m pretty sure the person who criticized my action believes I betrayed the memory of Hind by not pushing back in the moment.
